| OIS Joins FACE Consortium |

The FACE Consortium is an industry group consisting of government, product suppliers, and customers, tasked with developing open standards and architectures for a common operating environment that will allow a more dynamic extension of capabilities across avionics computer systems platforms. The lack of industry standards has made the process of adding new mission capabilities to aircraft systems very expensive and slow. The new standards are intended to ensure more robust and open avionics computer systems that are less expensive to implement, more secure and easier to upgrade. OIS membership and participation in the FACE Consortium is a natural extension of the long-term investment OIS has made in safety- and security-critical technologies.
